SAtrae gallery is named after one of the most heroic Thracian tribes - SAtrae. It is the only tribe, according to Herodotus, that remained unconquered. The satrae were bold warriors and refined miners. They mined gold and silver in the area of present-day east Rhodopes mountain. They had inhabited the highest part of this region, where my birth place is. As an author of the jewelry, gallery creator and curator, I have chosen the name SAtrae also as peculiar hologram of my name - Stanislava Angelova. Thacian Cliffs of the northern Black Sea coastline has turned to be my other inspiration. This is the place I live and create the jewelry and where I find my treasures. The sea shells, these forms of Black sea life, are the accent of my art.
